I had been attempting to learn to drive on and off for years. I genuinely believed I would never grasp it and always hated it.
Jane was very friendly, extremely patient, reliable and made my lessons no longer a chore but something I look forward to.
If i did not understand something , she immediately found a different way to explain it so that I did . She also had helpful hints pictures/photos to help me through. she had a great memory, meaning that anything I had struggled with the week or sometimes months before she would remember the whole scenario and go through it all again until I grasped it.I don\'t know how she put up with my moaning and crying but I am so glad she did.

I had previously had lessons with another driving school so I knew the bascis, however I felt in my first lesson with Dennis I had learnt/done more than in previous three lessons with another instructor. I started my lessons with Ignition Driving School and my instructor was Jamie Andrew. I was very apprehensive to start with as this was my fourth instructor. I never really got on with my previous instructors and so was really nervous at starting up my lessons again.

However, as soon as I got into the car, Jamie introduced himself and we had a good chat. This really helped and settled my nerves. I used to dread my lessons with previous instructors but this time I felt reassured and I was given lots of praise and encouragement.

Jamie also helped me with my theory. As I had already failed this once before, I was not looking forward to taking it again. However, Jamie went through it all with me and I passed!!!

Then came the time for my driving test. I was absolutely petrified, but, again, Jamie reassured me and told me everything I needed to know. Unfortunately, I failed my test but I think this was due to nerves. Jamie encouraged me to keep trying and not to give up, (even though I wanted to). I passed second time around!!! I was so pleased. If it wasn´t for encouragement and support, I probably would have given up like all the other times. I definitely found him helpful, pleasant and friendly and I have already started recommending Ignition to people I know. I am very grateful for everything. Thank you.

I had already had two other driving instructors before I met Steve but hadn\'t progressed as far as I had wished. Steve, unlike the others, was very proactive and didn\'t spend ages showing you diagrams and talking you through it - instead practice makes perfect and he let you get on with it giving brilliant feedback and how to improve. Steve is a popular instructor on campus and I can see why. He takes you on different routes each time and the lessons are always interesting and varied. I would strongly recommend Steve. He was always on time, would always fit you in as he works evenings and weekends and is great value for money - apart from that he\'s just a really top bloke! And I passed first time woop woop!

I am 28, and i have been having driving lessons off and on since i was 17 however never with Ignition. After having a little boy last year the need for driving was now a must. It was July this year and i was due to start back at work the beginning of September and would need to get my son to nursery and home. From the first contact I had with Ignition everything moved so quickly, within a week I had met my instructor Jayne Sorrell and had my first 2 hour lesson, She advised me on the best package that suited my requirements and totally appreciated how quickly I needed to get through. Even though I had had some experience I was basically a new driver. She supplied me with a full new drivers pack with information on the theory tests, highway codes and under bonnet information.

I got stuck in right away and then after 3 weeks of having 4 lessons a week I took and passed my theory test striate away. I came home and booked my test thinking I was no where near ready, but Jayne was very encouraging and said \"it can always be changed if I didn\'t feel ready\". I carried on with my 4 hours a week and on the 26th August 2011 I PASSED my practical test first time!

That\'s how quickly she got me through. My first week back at work I drove my son to nursery and it felt great.

I can\'t thank Jayne enough for the support and encouragement she gave me and how she has changed my family\'s life.

Before starting driving, I was quite nervous as I had had no prior driving experience. However, Alan made me feel at ease, and we went at a pace that was comfortable for me. Alan was always on time, if not early, and did not seem to mind running over time. The car was very good, and easy to get used to. I would recommend practicing in between lessons, as this allowed me to practice what we had done in the lesson, and ultimately I picked up the skills faster. I would definitely recommend learning with Alan as he made the experience enjoyable, and taught me to become a good driver. I will definitely recommend him to my friends!

Andrew was invaluable to me when I was learning to drive. I came from another driving school and was very nervous and unconfident about driving lessons and driving in general. After stopping my driving lessons in 1994 to have my son, I found it really hard to get back into driving. My driving instructor had also stopped teaching so this also made it very difficult.

After phoning around many different instructors, I then phoned Ignition, and spoke to Kelly. I got a very happy friendly voice, which made me feel relaxed.

Lesson times were never going to be easy as getting childcare was a problem and working different hours each week, which meant hours were limited.

Kelly always fitted me in for an hour, lessons were great, I was also comfortable. We always had a laugh and a chat. Any problems I could always text Kelly or she could text me. I really enjoyed my lessons and building my confidence towards my test. I look forward and am happy to pass on Ignition Driving School to my friends (especially Kelly) Thanks to Kelly I\'ve passed my test but also made a new friend.

I was very apprehensive about having driving lessons. I had had a couple when I had just turned 17, with an awful, mean instructor so I was put off lessons for a while. I explained this to Jamie and he was very understanding. He let me take lessons at my own pace, and the first lesson we had, he let me get used to the car and helped me position my seat etc.

He was very helpful throughout my lessons, explaining manouevres and theory very carefully before letting me attempt the test. I felt very safe in the car and this greatly reduced my anxiety about driving.

He was very pleasant and friendly, putting me at ease very quickly. He\'s also pretty funny at times - I think its important to have a sense of humour in the job. He was always on time, and let me know if he couldn\'t make lessons well in advance. I could pick lessons whenever I needed to - he worked around my timetable. Because of his tuition, I passed my test first time after only 32 lessons.

Thank you very much Jamie and Ignition.

I have already recommended 3 people to him. He is an excellent instructor.

I found Colin my Ignition Driving School instructor very helpful, very friendly, calm, patient and polite. I was a bit apprehensive before taking lessons again as I had been taking lessons for a while with a previous instructor and was not getting anywhere. With Colin I gained back my confidence, became better at driving and was able to also pass my theory test. Colin was very encouraging, positive and supportive even after failing my practical test two times. He always believed in me and with his help I was able to successfully pass my driving test. Colin also gave very useful hints and tips.

Steve Apps taught me how to drive. I found him very easy to get along with and a very friendly person. I had no previous experience of driving before I started my lessons so I had to start from scratch. Steve was very patient with me and before I knew it he had turned me into a good driver. Shane was a brilliant driving instructor he made me feel at ease when driving, which helped me gain confidence behind the wheel, he was very easy going but was strict when needed.

I have had driving lessons when I was younger and always gave up thinking it was too hard and I would never learn. The thought of going round a roundabout petrified me.

But as soon as I started the lessons with Shane at Ignition I loved driving and looked forward to each lesson, and Shane made me feel that everybody that drives even people that have passed their test make mistakes, so even making mistakes my confidence grew. I am a U.S. Citizen living in England for three to five years and found myself searching for a driving instructor to help me pass my UK test before my US license expired. Paul was recommended by some friends and returned my call immediately.

We booked lessons and Paul worked with me over the next three months to sort out the difference between the driving styles and requirements here in the UK. He helped me break down skills into logical steps. I am now much more confident with my parallel parking, bay parking and turns in a road. He helped me brush aside some bad habits that had developed over 20 plus years of driving and helped me identify areas that needed focus and concentration in order to not only pass the test, but to become a life long safe driver.

Paul\'s star truly shined the day of my test when he helped me arrange to have a headlamp bulb replaced just 25 minutes before I was scheduled to take my test.
Without his quick thinking and knowledge of the area, I would have never found the garage in time for the minor repair.

We were able to arrive at the test centre with 3 minutes to spare. I passed on the first try and will be ever grateful for Paul for his guidance and encouragement. I would recommend him to anyone just learning to drive or those who have driven for a while who would like to brush up on some skills and ensure they remain safe drivers. Thanks Paul!

I was under a lot of pressure to pass my test when I joined Ignition Driving School. I had just failed a test with a different driving school and my new job depended on me passing.
My instructor was dedicated to my learning and did not under estimate the stress I was going through.

I am very happy with my experience with Ignition Driving School.
I was incredibly nervous when I started learning to drive, but Kelly was really patient and great at putting my nerves at rest. Always very supportive.

Being a stay at home parent, I was quite restricted in when I could take my lessons, but Kelly was great at always being able to fit me in when it suited me.

I would recommend Ignition to anyone learning to drive and think the high level of teaching is fantastic value for money.

Although I only had about 12 hours worth of lessons (due to my dad teaching me the basics for a few months before) I found learning and preparing for my test with Paul invaluable. He was always prompt, never cut the lesson short and patient.

I found his folder used to explain situations / the manoeuvres very helpful and it was obvious he was experienced at teaching - would definitely recommend to friends.

Darius was extremely committed to his role teaching me to drive. Punctual with lessons starting on time and the lesson plan being discussed from the start.

Darius focused on teaching me the rules of the road as well as don\'ts. Correcting errors with explanation so I fully understood the potential consequesnces of such actions.

Building up confidence was a key factor to success which Darius brought out of me byy pushing me to my limits, but not beyond, in a safe environment.

Straight talking from Darius allowed me to understand my progress and what was required to fulfil driving standards.

I first started my driving lessons in Israel. Unfortunately my instructor wasn\'t paying attention to me. I failed my test twice.

Since in England, an Israeli driving licence is not valid after a year. I knew that I would need to have a driving test sooner or later. I went online and popped in driving lessons. There I found the Ignition Driving School website. I called them and was told that one of the instructors would give me a call.

Mr Roy Stone became my driving instructor. He was very attentive and instructive. he would always give advice not only about the practical but also the theoretical part of driving.

He always tried to find the right approach in different situations to make sure that my driving would be up to the standard. I passed my test on my second attempt.

I will definitely recommend Mr Roy Stone to my friends who want to learn to driving from a professional.

Before Ignition i was with a different driving school. The availability of the instructors was bad and I dreaded having or taking lessons. after switching to Ignition I couldn\'t believe the difference, not only where they cheaper but the quality of the lessons and the friendly instructor was a massive improvement. When choosing a driving school, I found Ignition\'s website to be appealing and user-friendly. I contacted Ignition for a callback and was assigned Anita Gilbey as my tutor.

Naturally, like most students, I was nervous about meeting my tutor and getting into the driver\'s seat, but Anita and I got along like a house on fire from the word \"go\". She\'s knowledgeable and passionate about getting students driving and will help you every step of the way, from baby steps to driving as you would every day (minus the bad habits). Anita is firm but very fair in her teaching style and incredibly understanding and patient if one is nervous or having an off day.

I would definitely recommend driving with Anita if you live in the Guildford area.

I want to thank Ignition and Richard Rodaway in particular for his help throughout my driving lessons. I only had 22 or so lessons from Richard before I passed my test and to me that doesn´t seem alot! Before I started my lessons I was a little nervous, naturally, but once I got into it I felt fine and just wanted to learn more. I found Richard very helpful and he answered my questions thoroughly and detailed (even using up 10-15 minutes extra every lesson to answer them). Apart from helping my driving, Richard was also a good person/friend and made me laugh a lot. I must say I thought he \"waffled\" a bit at first but now I realise this was for my own good and to help me relax. I liked Richard as a person and would definitely recommend him to others looking to drive.

In relation to doing things differently I\'m not sure he could have - because it all felt so right, (it would have been good if he had gone crazy and shouted when I passed but I know he had to be professional - HAHA!). I will definitely look into taking the \"Pass Plus\" course as it seems worthwhile and again wish to thank Richard Rodaway again for his help as it\'s been a pleasure working with him and wish him good luck in the future career. It has been a pleasure to start my driving lessons with Ignition Driving School after having to give up hope of ever passing the test with another driving school as it just wasn\'t coping up with my style. Rather than making me feel at ease behind the wheel, they were trying to make me change my driving style so that it added another couple of paid hours for them and more misery for me. With over 6 years of driving experience over some of the craziest roads in the world, I found it ridiculous and had to walk away from them, even thought there were a few hours of paid lessons leftover.

Starting my lessons back at Ignition I simply felt great behind the wheel, as I now had an instructor who was happy to observe my driving style and make suggestions so that it was aligned with the requirements of the DSA. The patience shown by the instructor is definitely worth mentioning as it brought back my confidence on passing the test and driving was fun again. The timings were adjusted to suit my requirements and the mock tests massively improved my chance of passing the practical test. After 20 hours of lessons and two tests later I am the proud owner of a full UK driver\'s licence. Today when I have to drive 120 miles a day to my work place, I feel so much at ease. Thanks to Ignition for making my driving experience a happy one, for today and for many more years to come.

Having had a number of instructors prior to Paul, I had begun to feel a bit despondent. However, Paul\'s teaching methods helped me gain confidence very quickly & I felt he really tailored lessons to my needs. I was very nervous when I started driving lessons, I have tried before but given up thinking i would never be confident or good enough to drive, but when I started my lessons with Shane he made me feel at ease straight away my confidence grew and my driving improved. I looked forward to every lesson and felt that each lesson my driving improved. I've really enjoyed my lessons with Lisa. She was always punctual and very patient regarding all my questions. Although I've already had a non-EU licence, I found these lessons quite useful and I am sure that I would not be able to prepare for the test without all good tips that Lisa gave me. She also provided me with a useful written material about driving from the Ignition Driving School and her own, which came quite handy in cases when I made longer break between the lessons or as a revision before the test.

All in all Lisa is great instructor, very pleasant and approachable, and I would highly recommend her.

She showed me techniques to make it a lot more simpler that I never knew before and built up my confidence a lot behind the wheel.
Kelly is extremely helpful, pleasant and friendly. I'll miss our weekly gossips we used to have! The tuition was excellent, I can not think of a single thing that could have been done better or differently.
My friend has not started learning to drive yet and I will definitely recommend her to Kelly and I'm sure she'll enjoy it as much as me!.

i was with a different driving school before Ignition and i didn\'t enjoy my lesson at all as I felt like I was not not learning
anything, so my dad found Ignition and i got a very informative welcome pack and i a good chat with one of the driving instructors and she helped me with what I needed. Jayne helped me pass sooner than the other instructor would have. Jayne supported me all the way through my driving. Once I passed my driving test i got a congratulations card which I thought was really nice. I am definitely recommending Ignition to my friends as I think you are very good and helpfull

I am very happy to write the comment today that i passed my test for the first time with Jamie Andrew\'s tuition for the past one and half years.I didn\'t know anything about Ignition Drivng School as the driving lessons were a surprise from my husband.He obtained Jamie\'s number from one of my friends who was praising Jamie a he is a very good driving instructor with a high test-pass rate for the first time.I spent a long time learning with Jamie due to personal reasons but not necessarily lots of lessons (I took around 45 so far or slightly more with very little practice after lessons as my husband was not very happy to use his car, yes you knew that already.)

The way he was teaching just suited me. He will have fun with you when you are learning. Also you don\'t feel like he just been fully qualified a few years ago. After i passed my test today i will definitely recommend him to other friends and families as he is very good at what he does. And his character suits this job as well. I hope he will be even better in the future and i will not let him down with my driving ability in a long term.

Overall, i think with driving lessons you need someone a bit more strict than the actual driving is and you need someone who can talk to you as a friend then you will enjoy your lessons, most of all you don\'t need to be broke to get a driving licence! :)

I will gain more experience in the future with my new car and what Jamie taught me will benefit my life which is just a driving instructor\'s ultimate goal!

As a novice learner starting from scratch, I am delighted to have passed my driving test at first attempt with only 2 minors.

I achieved this in 30 lessons with Paul GOWLETT who has been an incredible tutor: patient, reasonable, very flexible to my time constraints, and thorough.

I can now drive safely and with great confidence. Within days, I have begun taking my children to school and various events without being anxious.

Andrew is an excellent driving instructor who I would recommend to anyone. Admittedly, at first I was nervous about beginning to drive, three of my mates: Ryan, Joe and Dan had already begun and it seemed like a momentus occasion on my 17th birthday. The first lesson went incredibly smoothly and it continued from there. As the weeks went on, the instructor from ignition helped my driving to progress significiantly and I managed to pass my test with only two minors.
On top of that, my instructor, Nick was a total legend over the whole course of my learning and really knew what he was doing. He was a right laugh with detailed insights into football, snooker and cricket.
I would not change my experience at all and have recommended Nick to three of my mates - Without recieving the £15 reward or whatever it is, but i dont mind at all. Overall, ignition was superb.

When I first contacted Ignition, I was really nervous and had no confidence, I had been taking lessons with other driving schools over a period of 8 years, off & on, I never found one that I liked and gave me any confidence, but I really needed and wanted to learn to drive! I was given Mike Moorhouse as my local instructor. We hit it off straight away, as I went on I felt less nervous and more confident, so a big thank you to Mike for helping me along the way to changing my life for the better.

I made lots of mistakes to begin with, but Mike was very patient and kind from the beginning, he never made me feel silly - rather he used them as learning points, talking through why it happened so I was less likely to make the mistake again. Mike allowed me to relax behind the wheel; he reminded me that driving can be an enjoyable activity, while still being a safe and careful driver.

I would recommend Mike as an instructor to anyone learning to drive; I had an excellent experience with him and Ignition and more importantly I passed my driving test first time of trying! How good is that?

Firstly, I would like to say a big thank you to Dave for helping me pass. I started with no experience of driving a car and with just a little over 30 hours Dave managed to get me to test standard as well as driving safe.

Secondly, the standard of Dave\'s teaching is superb. He made me feel confident but most important, when learning new things, relaxed. If all the other instructors within Ignition are at the same level as Dave I would recommend anyone to use them.

Next, the price. I came from Germany especially to do my driving so I did a lot of looking at prices, availability and the pass rates. Ignition was one of the few that stood out as being reasonable priced considering the other two factors.

Again I would like to say a big thank you to Dave for being a great instructor and helping me pass my test with such little lessons.

My first lesson with Ignition Driving School was really good. I was made to feel at ease and felt comfortable. I was given clear and understandable instructions which were easy to follow. As my lessons progressed each week (1 hour a week) so did my skills and confidence. I was happy with how quickly I progressed each week.

I was very nervous when I first started lessons, as I had lessons previously with a different school, I used to hate having lessons then. After the first lesson with Erika, my nerves went away, she never told me off unlike the other school, instead she would just correct me, my confidence built up.

Erika was a fantastic teacher, I felt like my driving improved very quickly with her. She was also very nice to chat to and my confidence built up so much with her, that it felt as though I was chatting to a friend not an instructor.

I would like to state how pleased I am with the excellent service provided by my driving instructor, Geoff.

When I first started driving with Geoff, I\'d had around four months previous driving with another driving company. I was taught the same skills repeatedly, my lessons were frequently cut short and my flaws in learning were continuously pointed out; the instructor made no attempt to try and help me overcome these. So as you may now be aware, when I first started driving with Geoff, I was nervous and unconfident in my ability, I thought passing my test was a long way off. However Geoff had the patience and persistence to show me how to drive correctly and I passed my test within 4 months of his teaching which I feel is extremely impressive! I began to enjoy my lessons and as my skills increased so did my confidence in driving. Not only was Geoff, an excellent teacher, he was friendly and kind, and always put a smile on my face.

Unlike my first tutor, Geoff was extremely professional in his work, he was without exception either early or on time for every one of my lessons, my lessons were never cut short, in fact often they ran over, if I needed particular help.

Geoff was extremely helpful, and went out of his way to accommodate me, the evening before my test I was apprehensive about a particular manoeuvre, Geoff kindly offered to take me over to the Warwick test centre to practice, this was not a scheduled lesson and Geoff took time out of his personal life to help me, which I sincerely appreciate, the next day I was calmer about performing this manoeuvre and when asked to complete it I did it correctly and received no minors in this manoeuvre. I passed my test first time with 7 minors and feel this is wholly down to Geoff\'s commitment and belief in me.

I was also impressed with the starter information pack I received when I began my lessons with Ignition Driving School, and the certificate congratulating me on my success, I feel this personal touch is impressive, and that the school and of course my wonderful tutor, cared greatly about my success and providing an excellent service.

I can honestly say that I would not have changed any part of my driving experience with Geoff, and Ignition Driving School, Geoff helped me overcome my preconceptions about learning how to drive, now I can say that I genuinely enjoy driving!

I would definitely recommend Geoff to anyone interested in learning how to drive, I have already began to tell my friends and family members about how well I was taught and how pleased I am with the outcome. I have already recommended Geoff, to a family friend who is planning on learning how to drive early next year. The only improvement that I could suggest would be providing leaflets or booklets similar to the information pack, included with the start-up pack, so that when people ask about Ignition Driving experience, and would like to pursue learning, I could offer them a leaflet with a number on and possibly a price list etc. I hope this is a helpful suggestion.

I passed my test 2nd time after having driving lessons with Ignition for 9 months. I think this is a brilliant achievement as before starting lessons last September I had no driving experience whatsoever. I was really pleased with the tuition I received from my instructor. Even though I was incredibly nervous at first, he always encouraged me and made me feel safe. I can honestly say that I looked forward to having my driving lesson every week. After failing my 1st test, Dave reassured me that I was capable of passing and helped build my confidence enough to re-sit the test 1 month later. I think that without his help, constant praise and constructive criticism I wouldn\'t have passed my 2nd test. I am really pleased to be sending you this feedback after passing my test. I was very nervous passenger before I started my lessons, I believed that I would never feel confident enough to drive a car - let alone pass. Julie was fantastic and helped to build up my self-belief lesson by lesson.

It was something I put off for years and and years (even though it always seemed to be a New Years resolution almost every year after coming of age!!).

I trained with Mike on only the latter part of my learning. My previous instructor left me with a complete lack of motivation in driving and no confidence in my own abilities. Mike helped me to appreciate how capable a driver I was, the most difficult part for me to overcome.

I was a passenger of a motorway RTA, in which the driver died. I was getting flashbacks when confronted by articulated lorries and was put off learning to drive for many years. However, having spent many years waiting for taxis, buses and for people to pick me up, I decided to take the plunge and learn to drive.

I emailed many companies telling them about my plight and only ONE replied, Ignition. I was then introduced to my driving instructor Mr Steve Perry and even after I told him what I went through he agreed to teach me. Although progress was slow (due to the fact I was happy to just drive on back roads), Steve spent many lessons reassuring me that the car has dual controls and that nothing was going to happen to me or the car. Even when I made mistakes Steve made me feel at ease and relaxed. Steve was very patient and encouraged me to believe in myself. Steve made me see sense and after many lessons I was ready to take my test.

On January 27th, I took my driving test and to my amazement I passed with just 3 minors. I have recently been doing the Pass Plus which I have really enjoyed, as it has helped me to have a better understanding of the different situations that I as a driver could be confronted with.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Steve and Ignition and I would recommend anyone who is thinking about learning to drive to give you a call.

Learning to drive was on the top of my to-do lists at the beginning of my second year at university. I had tried learning to drive with several and I literally mean several driving schools and instructors. But none of them seemed keen to actually teach.

It wasn\'t until I came across Ignition Driving School and my instructor Steve Yardley that I felt that I could actually learn to drive. Steve was extremely patient and used methods specifically that would help me. The lessons were tailored to suit my driving style and help me gain the confidence that I would require. He\'s friendly, very polite and doesn\'t get too angry if you screw something up really badly which I probably did on a regular basis.

Even after a 3 month dry spout when I had been in London I came back to Hull and we picked up were we had left off. I passed my test first, with the helpful and guiding hand of my instructor Steve. If it were anyone else I don\'t think I would have passed first time. So, if you\'re thinking of taking driving lessons choose Ignition better still if you can get Steve you\'re more than likely to pass first or second time.

As an ex-pupil of the Ignition Driving School my experiences with Kelly my driving instructor were most enjoyable, from my very first lesson right through to my driving test I was dealt with the upmost respect. Kelly made me feel at ease and explained everything to me so I understood what I needed to know, nothing was too much trouble even when I asked more than once (which was quite often).

I was recommended to Ignition from a friend who had the same experiences as I had, they also passed their driving test first time the same as me. Also two other friends passed first time with Ignition so I felt their pass rate was excellent and that\'s what made me choose this particular driving school, along with the fact that they said the instructor was very easy to understand and get on with.

They gave me all the info I needed for my theory and once I passed that we moved on to my driving test and it was all at my pace which was great.

I really enjoyed my driving lessons. Paul was very welcoming and patient, whilst I got the hang of all the manoeuvres. The car was nice to drive, and the booking hours very flexible. I have not just learned to pass my driving test, but to be a safe and cautious driver, picking up useful life skills I can use for the rest of my life.

Driving in general had been a great fascination of mine for a long time, since cars are an imense passion. However, when I first took to the wheel I felt rather apprehensive and had changed two driving schools prior to joining Ignition.

Hayley Towers my new driving instructor provided a patient and benevolent nature throughout my driving tuition. It was clear from the off that we got on like a house on fire and through her careful planning and teaching I managed to get to test standard and pass in no time at all.

I like to think that the time we had together was interesting (and would like to add unique) as we had many amusing and remarkable lessons along the way (including some really hysterical moments). My experience of Ignition Driving School was fantastic, despite the fact that I was quite nervous before the first lesson. My instructor (Jayne Sorrell) was excellent, remaining incredibly calm and patient despite my numerous driving mistakes. Her tuition was of such a high standard that I passed my test first time after just 38 hours of lessons, despite having never driven before in my life.

During the lessons, I was given thorough preparation for all aspects of the driving test, and also trained in the techniques of bay-parking (a non-examinable, but extremely useful skill).

Based on my very positive experience, I would certainly recommend Ignition to anyone, especially first-time drivers.

Hayley is a brilliant instructor!

I was very nervous about starting driving but the lessons were planned out at a pace I found very comfortable.

Hayley was sympathetic and accommodating to my needs - especially since I had a time limit and made sure we did everything possible to ensure I would pass my test (so I could do it in York and not in my home town when I moved home from Uni).

I passed my test first test with only four minors - which should be a testament to Hayley in itself!

It took me a year to be ready and I passed second time around. I didn\'t have much time for lessons as my baby was 6 months when I started and my instructor was very patient and positive all the way.

I approached Ignition as I\'d taken several lessons in the past, but never reached test standard and I\'d always been a nervous learner. I wanted to get it over and done with once and for all, with a patient and friendly instructor.

I was apprehensive before my first lesson, but Jamie put me at ease almost straight away. We discussed what I\'d done before, why I was nervous and what the best approach would be. One thing I asked Jamie to do was push me beyond my comfort zone as I was too scared to push myself.

Jamie and I got on well from the start. As well as being easy going and understanding whenever I made a mistake, he was incredibly professional. If I had a question or was doing something wrong, he\'d explain it fully in a way that I\'d understand. He never lost his temper or became frustrated with me and always reassured me and praised me when I did well, which really helped my confidence.

Jamie did push me as I\'d asked him to do - but I never felt like it was a challenge I couldn\'t handle. He\'d always talk me through it beforehand and assured me I had the necessary skills and he never put me in a position that was beyond my capabilities. Meeting these new challenges gave me more confidence in my abilities and really built up my skills.

I feel as though if it wasn\'t for Jamie, I wouldn\'t have got through it. I passed my test first time with three minors and was over the moon!

I\'d recommend him to anyone, especially if you\'re nervous as he\'ll really put you at ease. In fact he\'s successfully teaching a good friend of mine at the moment.

Roy is friendly and a great instructor and helps with every aspect of learning, including if you´re having a bad one he just takes you to one side and tells you what you need to hear! Alan is without doubt the best instructor I have learned and now passed with......i put wanting and needing to drive off, for over 20+yrs and because of a few previous \'other\' driving instructors from other schools (whom I might add gave me no confidence) I never felt the need to drive.

However after being convinced by my wife 20yrs later the benefits of being able to drive, I decided to take the plunge and go for it.....and boy was I glad I chose Ignition and especially Alan Bradford.

I am 23 years of age and should\'ve passed long ago. I started at 19 years but gave up as I moved to Sheffield where the city roads were daunting for me.

It took me a while to get round to it as you hear stories about instructors...but I am so pleased I took the plunge. My instructor,Simon Marlow was so helpful, we really had a laugh on the lessons (well I did, perhaps his expressions was fear!) :-)

I would recommend Simon to all my friends as he really puts you at ease and doesn\'t get angry if you mess up at all.

A huge thank you to Paul for teaching me drive and giving me the experience I needed which enabled me to pass my test!

I was very grateful that he was able to fit my needs as myself and my husband work opposite shifts which continually change and take it in turns to look after our daughter. Paul was very flexible when it came to arranging lessons, arranging them at short notice, of various lengths and ending at either my home or workplace depending or where I needed to be. He knew I wanted to pass my driving test by October (my 2nd child is due on the 19th of October), although I wasn\'t sure that this was achievable, but he remembered and I did it! - A great relief & very useful.

He was always calm and friendly and explained things well. He showed me different ways of doing things (e.g. different steering methods when parallel parking). Paul also encouraged me to push me too far (e.g. I hated reversing into a bay from the right, he got me to do this a few times until I felt comfortable with it, but didn\'t overdo it or require perfection with it).

I will definitely recommend Ignition Driving School when I hear of anyone wishing to learn to drive or change instructor! Thank you again.

I was very apprehensive, and he managed to put me completely at ease during lessons now that I have passed my test I can say I will miss my lessons with Jim!

I started my original driving lessons with another company in an automatic car. Unfortunately things didn\'t work out with my instructor. I found Ignition on the internet and gave them a call, the customer service was brilliant and I was put in contact with my instructor Steve Perry. On our first meeting I was very nervous about driving a manual car for the first time but my nerves were soon put at ease with Steve. My weekly lessons were brilliant and I was never made to do anything I wasnt confident doing. My lessons were good value for money and everything was always explained to me in full. Steve was brilliant at putting my nerves at ease and never made me feel bad for making a mistake. I would highly recommend Steve!! I was thrilled with a first time pass couldn\'t have done it without you!

Prior to my driving lessons I was very nervous.

When I was introduced to Roy I felt there was a relaxed atmosphere and with his professional attitude he had the ability to put me completely at ease.

Whilst taking driving lessons Roy provided me with instructions that never made me feel under pressure and Roy instilled a confidence into me that I never thought I had.

When I did make errors whilst driving, Roy did not make me feel inadequate or was condescending in any way, he provided support and direction which made me feel confident to go on.

Roy has been a consummate professional who I would gladly recommend to anyone who I know would like to learn to drive.

I met with Paul in March, having had no driving experience whatsoever!

He said to me the first time I spoke to him \"I am not teaching you to drive to pass a test, I am teaching you to drive safely for the rest of your life\" and this is exactly what he has done. I had two 6 week gaps in the 9 months I was learning, and still passed first time, a lot of which I put down to Paul and what a brilliant teacher he is, and he is such a nice guy as well.

He made the whole experience an enjoyable and memorable one. He taught me the clutch control on a hill and talks about the victoria sponge and the jam and how you have to be more into the jam when you\'re on a hill (meaning lift your clutch a little higher, anyone taught by Paul will know what I mean). I am already recommending Paul to anyone I know, and even considering motorway lessons.

Once again, Paul, You\'re great, thanks so much for being so patient, you\'re a star!

I would like to say my driving experience has been wonderful, I have enjoyed it very much and I would say this was due to my amazing driving instructor Jamie Andrew.

He was super supportive, motivating, understanding and did everything he could to help me throughout my time with him.

I think Jamie deserves some kind of reward for teaching me how to drive and putting up with me. I am very happy to have passed my driving test, but somehow I am gutted that I will never have enjoyable lessons again that we always had.

I was very impressed with Steve's professional and friendly manners. I learnt to listen and trust his instructions which were beneficial to the end.
Myself, being a perfectionist, I haven't found a fault in his approach towards teaching and assessment of driving.

I had been with 3 driving instructors over the 10 years since i started doing lessons. The instructors i had been with were unhelpful and told me what to do and i lost interest in learning to drive as they all seemed the same.

My partner then encouraged me to start again after a 3 year absence and I chose Ignition because of the car colour and I found that Jason (the instructor) was a real gem. He listened to me and talked me through everything from how and why things are done. Jason really pushed me further to make sure i was ready and was very honest with me the whole time, within the 3 months of taking lessons we grew a friendship as well and was really easy to talk to.

I cannot thank him enough for his time and effort he put in with me. Because of Jason I was calm and I was able to stroll through my test.

Mark was patient and kind from the beginning; I remember peppering him with questions every two minutes. He answered each of them clearly, using language and examples I could understand - even in my highly nervous state! I made lots of mistakes to begin with, but Mark never made me feel silly - rather he used them as learning points, talking through why it happened so I was less likely to make the mistake again. Mark allowed me to relax behind the wheel; he reminded me that driving can be an enjoyable activity, while still being a safe, careful driver.
